Taken from a longer self-motivational note written by Michael Jackson in 1991 at Pebble Beach. You could consider it a tribute tattoo, but I don’t really think of it that way (which is why I chose not to include his initials at the bottom).
I - just like almost everyone - struggle on an almost daily basis with accepting myself as I am, physically and otherwise, and have since I was much younger than I am today. The same goes for motivating myself to make things in my life change. I was struck hard by the vulnerability in this note when I first read it, and couldn’t get it out of my mind for months afterward. I was also comforted by seeing such a familiar desire for the ability to push yourself forward and accept the beauty in yourself as you are, coming from a lifelong hero of mine. So this can serve as both a daily reminder and a comfort to me at once. Hurt like hell to get, but totally worth it.

Creativity Results when Intellect Triumphs over Emotions;
The top half is shaped like a sword which in traditional tarot, ideas are represented by the sword. Ideas are often associated with intellect so the tap half represents that.
The bottom half “Triumphs of Emotions” Emotions rest at a bottom of a pile because well…emotions are just messy.
Instead of relying on the feeling of being inspired to go out and shoot photos, I’ll let ideas of communicating composition techniques and what not guide me!nice motto
